Here are the short flims that we've submitted to the Local Shorts Film Festival in Albuquerque, NM over the past 4 years:
![]() | "Our Friend Smith" is the introduction to our documentary featuring Smith Weber. It's currently still a work in progress, but we hope the final product will be a tool that can be used to inspire and give hope to parents who find out they have kids with "special needs". |
![]() | "Redemption by Golf" is another goofy film featuring John & Jim. We found 25 year old footage (made with an old camera and saved all this time on vhs tapes)...and attempted to complete the movie. The quality is bad, but it was fun to finish the movie started by these guys back in the early 80's. |
![]() | "Hell is for Squirrels" features John's mom, who is being driven crazy by a squirrel infestation. We got this idea from a conversation where she went on and on about those *@#$ squirrels! |
![]() | "Lilies" won "Audience Pick" and "Movie-Maker's Pick" trophies at the 2008 Local Shorts 6 Film Festival in Albuquerque. It has been uploaded to Google Videos and you can link to view the movie at this url: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8248218899773426071 |

The "Terminator Complex" was, believe or not, part of the "Best of Fest" in the 2006 Local Shorts Film Festival in Albuquerque, NM. The original footage was shot by John Hubert and his buddy Jim Lavery, of New York, back in 1992. The film was never completed until the old footage was discovered in 2006. John and Brigette decided to complete the project as Jim and John had originally intended and added the girl scout scenes. "Texas Tunes" was our first attempt at making a short film to enter into the Local Shorts Film Festival here in Albuquerque. We filmed the scenes in Jayton, Texas (population 513), while there visiting Brigette's family for Christmas in December of 2004. The film was entered into the festival in 2005 and although we received some positive comments from movie-goers, it was not an award winning film. We had so much fun making the movie, though, that we decided that filmmaking was definitely a hobby we wanted to continue...and hopefully improve our skills!
